3 Free Christmas Sign SVG Files for Cricut
A Christmas sign goes up at the start of December, comes back every year and never needs washing. These three free SVG files for Cricut and Silhouette each make a different kind of sign, from a quick decal on glass to a painted board. The three are listed here from easiest to hardest.
The easiest is the Hot Cocoa Bar sign. The lettering goes on the glass of a picture frame with kraft paper behind it, so there is no wood to prepare and no paint to dry. Home for the Holidays is a round wood door hanger. Its tutorial shows how to find the center of a circle and keep four words level without a straight edge to measure from. Joy to the World is the advanced one. The file is cut as a single-use vinyl stencil and the letters are painted on, with a sealing step that keeps paint from bleeding under the edges.
Prepare the surface before anything else. Vinyl holds on smooth, sealed, fully cured surfaces and peels from raw, dusty or freshly painted wood. Each post explains how to prepare its own surface.
Adhesive vinyl for signs is cut right side up, with no mirroring, and moved into place with transfer tape. Choose a sign below for the full steps.
